Boys band JLS, who discovered popularity completing second on the fifth series of X Factor in 2008, reveal they are splitting up.
JLS last night dramatically announced they were splitting up after five No 1 songs and 5 years together. After forming a band in 2007, they rose to popularity a year later on when they came second behind winer Alexandra Burke.
It took JLS - Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams, J.B. Gill and Marvin Humes - 3 months to make the hard decision to call it a day.
They signed with Epic Records in 2009 and their first two songs Beat Again and Everybody in Love both reach number one in the UK. The band have sold more than 10 million records, had 5 number one singles and sold 1.5 million show tickets.
They succeeded 2 Brit Awards in 2010 as they turned into one of the nation's most significant pop bands, and released a 3D concert film for their 2012 album Eyes Wide Open.
It's not all bad for followers due to the fact that they will do a farewell trip and launch a biggest hits album before bowing out.
The 4 members of the group will state farewell to their fans with a tour in December.
They are each pursuing solo carriers: Merrygold has finished filming the Sky TV program Got to Dance; Humes, who is married to Rochelle of girl team the Saturdays, is a DJ on Capital FM and has become a reporter for Daybreak; Oritse Williams, who put the band together as a teenager, has his own pop management company; while the band's fourth member, Jonathan "JB" Gill, has apparently purchased a deer ranch in Scotland.
