Outrageous celebrity antics of the week
It was a good day for boys Tuesday, and for men to feel like boys again. Everyone, sing with us: It was an … itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, almost-there-but-not bikini that she wore for the first time today. We speak, in calm, measured tones, of Kate Upton, the model who adorns the cover of the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which was unveiled on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday. Letterman is believed to be in stable condition in an undisclosed hospital. The Associated Press reports that Upton, you'll be relieved to know, felt comfortable wearing the bikini, if you call that wearing it. Upton says there's no special diet to prepare for the SI bikini shoot, and she admits to splurging on the occasional ice cream or plate of fries. Hopefully, she wears a napkin. Now, some stats. Upton, 19 years of age and 5 feet 10, was born in Michigan but raised in Florida. Her hometown is Melbourne, on the state's east coast. The bikini, designed for Suit Yourself Bikinis by Kathleen Bruening, was photographed in Sydney, on Australia's east coast. When not being worn by Upton, scientists in lab coats study the bikini's structural properties under a microscope. In preliminary findings, they have determined that Upton's bikini causes undue, and possibly deleterious, fascination in males of the species.
