Celebrities join chorus touting healthy lifestyles
The Desert Sun reported
Former President Bill Clinton called in the power of Hollywood and social media Tuesday to boost his message about a health crisis in America.
Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn, fitness guru Jillian Michaels, Nickelodeon star Reed Alexander, golf superstar Annika Sörenstam and tennis legend Billie Jean King joined the panel discussions at the Renaissance Esmeralda.
Fashion designer Donna Karan stood from the audience to call Clinton an inspiration, and legendary singer Barbra Streisand sat quietly while Chelsea Clinton moderated a panel.
The celebrity panelists spoke passionately about shifting cultural norms in small ways to improve the emotional and physical well-being of the country's youth.
In one of the most anticipated appearances of the day, Hawn said she put her film career aside after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
