FRANK DARABONT’S (Green Mile) film The Shawshank Redemption, is a gripping and unforgettably touching tale of friendship between two inmates who bond through human kindness on their long roads to redemption. Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), in his best role yet, spectacularly characterizes an ordinary business man who gets thrown into Shawshank Prison after his wife, and her lover, are murdered and the fingers aim at him. There he meets ‘Red’ (Morgan Freeman) and they battle the Warden and every other delight the prison has to offer, with the enchantingly sanguine idea of one day escaping and earning their redemption.  Freeman provides a moving and enthralling narration throughout the film and exceptionally embodies the light-hearted character of ‘Red.’  With nothing more than a rock hammer and the heart of friendship, the duo quickly seduce you into their moving and tragic determination of freedom. This film is an incomparable achievement of cinema.
